Show how your project works before anyone has to imagine it
Custom 3D explainers of solar and storage projects, built from your site plan and equipment, for county hearings, landowner meetings and investor decks. Fixed fees, delivered in two to four weeks.
Engineering accuracy, built to hold attention
Each explainer follows the physical chain of the system: what happens, what would fail, and the part that fixes it. Viewers understand the project without a technical background, and engineers and lenders find nothing to correct.
The sample is from Power, Explained, our public series on how energy systems work. Your version uses your layout, your equipment and your brand.
Where clients use them

Investor and lender decks
Explain the technology and the project in one clip before the model discussion starts.

How it works
Scope
A short call, the audience and the decision the explainer supports, then a fixed-fee letter.
Inputs
Site plan, equipment list, brand files and any figures you want shown.
Storyboard
A written script and shot list for your approval before anything is rendered.
Deliver
Final cuts in every format you need, with a source log for each figure shown.
What it is, and what it is not
Clear scope protects you and the result.
- It is an illustrative visual explanation built on the technical inputs you provide and approve.
- It is not an engineering drawing, a stamped exhibit or expert testimony. Hearing versions are reviewed by your engineer before filing.
- It shows mechanisms, not promises. Explainers do not project returns or describe any offering.
- It is confidential. Project details stay private, and Hillcrest shows client work only with written consent.
Questions
Who owns the finished video?
You receive a perpetual license to use the final files. Hillcrest keeps the underlying 3D assets, which keeps fees lower. Source files can be bought out for twice the fee.
Can it be exclusive to our project or county?
Yes. Exclusivity by project or county adds 30% to the fee.
What technologies do you cover?
Ground-mount and rooftop solar, battery storage, community solar and agrivoltaics, plus wind, hydro and geothermal from the Power, Explained library.
Can investors interact with it?
Yes. An interactive 3D version for a data room or website, which viewers can rotate and explode, is available as an add-on.
What do revisions cost?
Two rounds are included in custom work. Further rounds are $750 each.
