Terms of sale and license

Seller and checkout

Products are sold by Hillcrest Energy Advisors LLC, 1203 K Street NW, Washington, DC 20005. Orders are processed by Stripe as merchant of record, which handles payment, sales tax and receipts. Files are delivered on a download page after payment.

License

Each self-serve purchase grants a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the product within one company or organization, for unlimited projects and up to three named users. You may modify the files for your own use. You may not resell, redistribute, publish or share the files, or derivative templates built from them, outside your organization. Organization-wide licenses are included in Professional and Institutional engagements.

Updates

Purchases include updated versions released within 12 months of the purchase date, delivered by email.

Refunds

Because products are downloadable files, sales are final, with one exception: if you find an error in a model and we cannot fix it within 14 days of your purchase, we refund the full price. Email models@hillcrestenergyadvisors.com with your order number and a description of the issue.

No advice

Models are analytical tools. They are not investment, tax, accounting or legal advice, and results depend entirely on the inputs you provide. You are responsible for verifying assumptions, including tax credit rates, eligibility and current law, before relying on any output.

Limitation of liability

Products are provided as is. To the extent permitted by law, Hillcrest's total liability for any claim relating to a product is limited to the price you paid for it.

Team, institutional and retainer engagements

Professional, Institutional, custom and retainer engagements are governed by a master services agreement and an order form signed for that engagement, which control if they conflict with these terms. In those engagements, clients own their deal-specific outputs and receive a perpetual license to the models delivered; Hillcrest retains its underlying frameworks and templates.

Privacy

We use your email address to deliver purchases and updates and, if you download a free tool, to send occasional modeling notes through our email provider. You can unsubscribe at any time. We do not sell your information.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the District of Columbia.
